Associate Professor Dr. Narutt Suttachitt

Associate Professor Narutt Suttachitt received his Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from Chulalongkorn University and Doctor of Philosophy (Curriculum and Music Education) from Indiana University, Bloomington. He is also specialized in the Kodály method, studying the Kodály Training at Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kécskemet, Hungary. 


Dr. Suttachitt has played a key role in shaping music education in Thailand, previously serving as Chair of the Department of Music Education, Associate Dean for Curriculum and Instruction, and Chair of the Administrative Committee for Doctoral and Master’s Programs in Music Education at Chulalongkorn University. He has been instrumental in managing Thailand’s National Level Artistic Talent-Based Student Admission Program since 1994.


His teaching spans undergraduate and graduate programs, covering subjects such as Psychology of Music Teaching, Innovation in Teaching Music, and Field Study in Music Education. An active researcher, his work includes studies on pitch perception in preschool children and brain-based music learning in early childhood education. He has authored ten influential textbooks, including Music Teaching Behavior (1995), Music Education: Foundations and Principles (2012), and Methodology of Teaching Music (2015).


Currently, Dr. Suttachitt is a faculty member at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, where he remains actively engaged in teaching, research, and curriculum development. His recent work focuses on innovative teaching methodologies, online music instruction, and strategies to enhance music learning in elementary education. Through his continued contributions, he remains a key figure in advancing music education in Thailand and beyond.
