Isabella Salas
Isabella Salas Mexican born artist Isabella Salas moved to Montréal in 2001 to pursue BFA Major in Film Production.
Specializing in Ways of Seeing Cinema, Expanded Cinema at Concordia University and followed by a specialization in experimental cinema at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (Cuba).
After a prolific career as film/tv and digital producer, she started creating immersive digital experiences in 2018, but it was until 2020 where she started using AI as her main creation medium when she was selected to participate at the Mutek AI Lab.
Her interdisciplinary artworks are grounded in the exploration of and preservation of nature and cultural assets using artificial intelligence, video, synthesized sound and installation as medium.
She has been recognized by some important contemporary art happenings at the Societe des Arts et Technologies, MAPP MTL, Music Motion Hacklab, MUTEK & MUTEK AI Art Lab, Immers(ed) UK, Gamma Festival (RU), TransArt Festival (IT), Polaris Music Awards 2020, Voltaje (COL), CUNAMEX (MEX).
Isabella's newest works will be exhibited during the next season in Montreal, Mexico city and Barcelona. You can find her work at the Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée in September; October at Anteism Gallery & Never Apart Gallery . Then internationally at the Fundacion de Arte por un Mundo Sostenible (MEX) in October/Nov for the 1st Latin American Art Biennale, and Espronceda Barcelona (ESP) in February 2022.
