The Song and Dance for New Hope
26 August 2021
09:30 - 10:00 hrs (GMT+7)
The Gut is the rites performed by Korean shamans, involving offerings and sacrifices to gods, spirits and ancestors. They are characterised by rhythmic movements, songs, oracles and prayers. These rites are meant to create welfare, promoting commitment between the spirits and humankind. Gwanak Ogu Gut was produced in 2013 after the death of Oh Yong-rok, a scholar who paid attention to the practicality of Gut.
We want to create the possibility of new performing arts with good wishes for the younger students and the heart to comfort people all over the world who are suffering due to COVID-19.
