The Hammond Organ, an iconic musical instrument with a rich history, has left an indelible mark on the world of music and captivated audiences across genres and generations. With the groundbreaking tonewheel system, the instrument's warm, organic sounds found their way into jazz, blues, rock, and gospel music. Today, the Hammond Organ continues to find relevance in contemporary music production, influencing jazz fusion, funk, popular and electronic genres. This workshop will enable participants to dig into the instrument's distinct features, including drawbars, vibrato, chorus effects, and the renowned Leslie speaker, all of which collectively contribute to the instrument’s organic and distinctive sound. Moreover, the workshop will delve into stylistic and technical approaches for playing the Hammond Organ, offering participants an in-depth understanding of its limitless expressive potential.
