The Music as Social Innovation (MAS) Center is a new initiative by PGVIM and partner institutions to set up a hub of high-skilled talents with expertise in applying musical knowledge in response to current global challenges. This panel discussion invites participants to delve into the transformative impact of music across three areas: Music Makes Senses, Music Makes Changes, and Music Makes Humanity. Each focus area highlights unique aspects of human, social, and economic development through musical innovation.
Music Makes Senses (MMS):
This cluster is dedicated to advancing innovations in music that enhance accessibility, participation, and the quality of musical experiences for diverse audiences. The goal is to provide more engaging and accessible musical encounters for diverse audiences.
Music Makes Changes (MMC):
This cluster leverages music as a transformative tool for fostering mutual understanding and healing social divisions, thereby promoting peaceful coexistence. It focuses on developing musical innovations that act as catalysts for social change and community enhancement. This approach follows the framework of social innovation.
Music Makes Humanity (MMH):
This cluster is dedicated to evolving music education approaches to nurture well-rounded individuals. By integrating philosophical concepts from the Asian region with contemporary practices, it seeks to deepen understanding of diversity and foster social integration.
