“Do we need a conservatoire in 2024? If the answer is to be yes in Scotland, we need to talk about who is it for; what are its purposes, how can it support and influence the eco-system and how can it thrive in a disinterested funding environment.” This session will explore key themes such as the fluidity between genres and art forms, the challenges and necessary actions for improving access to music education, the concept and implementation of vertical conservatoires, and the role of advocacy and lobbying within the Scottish and UK perspective.
